In light of the recent shooting and murder of yet another young black male Micheal Brown, I feel it is my duty to use this platform in hopes or reaching people with influence, power and authority, those who "fit the description" and all those in between.
They display our charred remains with nooses hung from trees hidden behind the title of "slave owner" and behind white sheets...
Displayed as trophies, no antlers however, only skin...
That was 1882...
They broadcast images of us sprawled out in the street, hunted, behind the guise of "neighborhood watch" and "Police" ...
Displayed as trophies, no tusks, teeth or furry hide, only skin...
This is NOW.
Young black men are dying at an alarming rate! Young black men, are Dying, at an alarming rate! Some of the main culprits are ignorance, AIDS, police, suicide, other young black men and police.
I urge the parents, guardians and those of influence in the lives of young black men to hip them to what some call "the system". The System is NOT meant to protect young black men, it is NOT meant to in anyway make things easier for young black men...it's quit the contrary.
Tell them that all police need is a reason. Don't give them one.
For whatever reason Jail was glorified as the place to go, the place to say you survived, well, tell them they might not even make it there.
Tell them, don't run.
Tell them be short and to the point when answering questions.
Tell them to know their rights.
Why did you become a police officer?
Are you a racist?
Did you feel threatened for your life by Micheal Brown?
Why did you feel it was necessary to use lethal force on a fleeing "suspect"?
Did it satisfy something in you to watch his young life fall at your hands?
Would you have still fired those shots if police officers were automatically subject to go on trial for murder, without protection from the authority you received after you said your oath?
I'll leave off with this; "with great power comes great responsibility" and I strongly believe Darren Wilson and anyone who abuses their authority should be held responsible to every extent of the law. Peace
