Growing up as a Washington, D.C. native and spending most of my time in some of the roughest neighbor(Hoods) in the District, I've seen more than my share of crime and drama. It's a place where, depending on your cirlcle, bein' tough oftentimes outweighs being smart. A lot of my urban experiences have influenced my art. I've drawn a lot of inspiration from my reflections on my environment. In a sense, my environment has helped create me and now I create imagery from my interpretation of my environment.

"ALL YOU SEE IS CRIME IN THE CITY"
This image was inspired by the beginning of the song "Respiration" by the group BlackStar which featured Common in 1998. There were two people talking about what the graffiti artist painted on the side of a train car. This song inspires me to this day and invokes so much thought. Mos Def aka Yassin Bey and Talib Kweli remain two of my favorite MC's of all time.
