[Heroic Artistry] How long have you been creating art?
[Jake Disagreement] I used to doodle a lot since I remember. When I was a kid I drew military stuff: soldiers, aero-planes, tanks, all of them fighting most probably with A. Hitler. I continued to doodle at school and university, often instead of making sensible notes. I started creating some digital art when I started work in a big IT company. I worked with other people on 12 hour shifts and actually I had lot of free time and MS painted installed on the computer the company gave me. I started to draw my workmates in some funny situations or created some nerdy memes, for example, about operating systems. It was much fun, but I was unsatisfied with drawing everything with computer mouse on MS Paint, so I got a pen tablet and now I am doodling with it, using various software - raster as well as vector.
[Heroic Artistry] Who are some the artists who inspire you?
[Jake Disagreement] I love the brilliant simplicity of old-school tattoo art style and there are lots of artist who I could list in this category. I am also inspired by Polish School of Posters. My first favorite painting was 'The Burning Giraffe' - my aunt had a copy of it at her place and it was really intriguing to me. I must tell you that American jazz music is also something that influenced me a lot. I keep at my place two copies of Miles Davis autobiography, one on a bookshelf, and one in toilet for daily readings.
[Heroic Artistry] How would you describe your style?
[Jake Disagreement] Very amateur. Some clumsy lines happen to form angular shapes in order to express sophisticated themes.
[Heroic Artistry] What are some of your favorite medium to use and why?
[Jake Disagreement] I generally stick to digital drawing because of the eraser and "Undo" button, so I can retry till I am satisfied. I love to sketch with 'analogue' media like pencil or ball point pen, but for me, it's so difficult!
[Heroic Artistry] What are your favorite things to draw and why?
Jake Disagreement: I like drawing dogs. I have much experience in it, so I find it rather easy. Generally, animals is a theme I like.
